Ranch Roping Clinic Classes (How To Choose Your Level)

How to choose the right clinic class!

I love to offer my students an opportunity to get what they need and not have to pay for a ton of instruction they can't use yet or they already know. With that being said I do price my clinics in a way that if you just love roping you can get 24 hours of instruction over a two day period for only $600. If you want to sign up for all 6 classes over the two days the price tops out at the $600. Keep that in mind as you choose the right class for you and I sure look forward to working with you!

Beginner Class ($150 per day)

In the beginner classes at my clinic we start at hour one. Anyone who doesn't have a swing or know how to build a loop will quickly pick this skill up. We will move into the four most useful and basic shots in roping. The side arm, tip over, heel trap, and hip shot. These four shots are the foundation for all ranch roping and you can make an absolute hand if you know these shots at a branding or doctoring cattle.

After we troubleshoot these shots we move into rope management. How to coil our rope and build a loop faster, how to dally and feed rope, and how to manage our left and right hand at the same time. From here we move into stockman ship and team work. How to set ourselves and our teammates up for success, how to manipulate the cattle to give ourselves the advantage, and how to be watching for the perfect moment to catch our target.

Once we have a foundation built on the basic principles we practice these skills. While you do not have to have a horse to participate in the beginner class we do work on some horsemanship with the students that have their horses. I encourage each student to focus on learning to troubleshoot their misses and mistakes in order to practice at home perfectly.

If you're getting started out and trying to learn the basics of roping a good foundation is a great place to start. I pride myself on being a great instructor that meets my student where they are. If you need these basics this is the class for you.

Intermediate Classes ($225 per day)

In these two four hour blocks we will start with the next level of shots and swings. We will add in a Houlihan and backhand swing for the students that don't have them. With these new swing angles we will add in a Houlihan head shot and two backhand heel shots, the backhand trap and karate chop hip shot.

My intermediate classes focus heavily on horsemanship, stockman ship, and teamwork. I find that my students in these classes need reps and coaching. We set up a ton of head shots and troubleshoot our mistakes with handling cattle and our horses. We usually do a lot of breakaway roping the first day and depending on our skill set we might hard rope day two.

I find my intermediate students grow a ton throughout the two days. Becoming more confident in their rope handing, horsemanship, and stockman ship.

If you feel like you need more confidence with your rope, A better understand of rope management, or more direction with your horsemanship and stockman ship this is the class for you.

Advanced Classes ($225 per day)

In my advanced classes we start on the dummy working our way from a scoop loop to a contra del. We cover the mechanics of all the big loop fancy shots as well as when to use them in real life.

After our troubleshooting session we move straight into roping live cattle. I find that most advanced ropers need to practice these difficult shots on moving live cattle to get the most out of their time spent at my clinic. We rope as many calves as we possibly can in our four hour classes.

If you have branded a ton, doctored cattle, or competed in three man ranch roping competitions this is the best class for you.
